Dr Doris (Roberts) getting ready to throw a  snowball and full of life outside Providence RI!  Later she had to quit school.  She had to work to help her family make ends meet after the Great Depression (1929-1941).  In 1951, a mere 4 years later, she met, fell in love, and eloped with a graduating midshipman from the Naval Academy.  Her favorite movie?  “An Officer and a Gentleman” (1982), of course!
